Fund Overview

The Folkestone Maxim A-REIT Securities Fund is a high conviction, actively managed fund, that gives investors exposure to a mix of quality listed A-REITs that own assets across the retail, residential, commercial, industrial and real estate related social infrastructure sectors.

The Folkestone Maxim A-REIT Securities Fund is pleased to announce that it has been reported as the No. 1 performing fund over one, two and three years in the Mercer Investment Performance Survey of Australian Real Estate Securities (REIT) (Active Funds) at 31 March 2017. The Mercer Survey reports that the Fund returned 11.98% (pre fees) for the year ended 31 March 2017 compared to 8.52% for the median manager in the survey and 6.31% for the S&P/ASX300 A-REIT Index (“Index”). The Survey also reports that over three years, the Fund has generated a return of 19.54% p.a. (pre fees) compared to 17.13% p.a. for the median manager and 16.76% for the Index.

Quarterly Distributions
Distributions are paid quarterly or can be reinvested into the Fund.

Liquidity
Investing in listed A-REITs provides greater liquidity than investing in direct real estate.

Investment Process

The investment process begins with a top-down analysis of economic environment and each of the major real estate sectors and geographic sub-markets. We believe the integration of quality research or the economic environment, capital markets and market pricing trends is critical to our decision making framework and gives us the ability to add value by identifying investment opportunities ahead of the market. The approach includes estimates of their yield, the net present value, net tangible assets, and gearing. Qualitative factors are also evaluated, including asset quality and management. The combination of our research and proven investment process ensures we maintain our high conviction approach to the management of the Fund, and avoid being labelled an Index hugger.
